Acer hasn't demonstrated a new Machine laptop in a long time, but with the drumming popularity of netbooks it has released itself back into the runout.

A low cost, low effectiveness eMD620-5777notebook was released by Acer, appears to be developed to contend with netbooks. The eMD620-5777 was rigged with a DVD burner, making it seem like it's an ordinary laptop until you realize that the price is only $429 and a 14.1" wide screen display. Moreover the gadget features AMD's 1.6GHz Athlon 2650e - a low power processor for small PCs, along with a single GB of RAM, so we can expect the battery life and performance of the unit to be meager.
